A car or SUV trimmed with fake wood like the Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ woodie is the ultimate Americana statement of automotive style. If any other country did this it just wouldn’t be the same. The car manufacturers seem to have lost their bottle in recent decades, with mediocrity winning the race. Can they ever regain their mojo? I doubt it. Too many rules.
There were 1,251,473 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ’s built. Of that, only 6378 were Grand Wagoneers. The 1993 Woodies with 3M-DI-NOC-Marine-Teak-Wood-Vinyl wood grain are as rare as hens teeth. Expect to see Retromod versions popping up for sale soon. They represented only half a percent or 0.5% of the total production.
